Abstract
This research aims to develop a board game learning media based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model for the topic of Biodiversity in Grade V at SD Negeri 141 Pekanbaru. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using a modified ADDIE model consisting of the Analyze, Design, and Development stages. The analysis phase revealed that IPAS learning still relied on simple teaching media, causing students to be less engaged and to struggle with abstract concepts. In the design phase, the board game was created by integrating PBL steps through challenge, threat, and solution cards based on real environmental problems. The development phase produced a prototype that was validated by experts in material, media, and language. Validation results indicated a feasibility level of 94.01% (very valid), with scores of 95% (language), 92.73% (material), and 94.29% (media). Practicality tests showed highly positive responses from teachers (100%) and students (97%), with an overall score of 98.5%, categorized as very practical. These findings indicate that the PBL-based board game is feasible for use in IPAS lessons and effectively enhances student engagement, concept understanding, and critical thinking skills.
