Abstract

Website security is a crucial aspect in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information, especially for higher education institutions. This study aims to analyze the vulnerability level of the website of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL), Universitas Islam Riau, using the penetration testing method. This method involves several stages of security testing, including planning, scanning, exploitation, and reporting. Tools such as Nmap, OWASP ZAP, and SQLMap were utilized to identify potential security gaps such as SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), and insecure server configurations. The results revealed several vulnerabilities that could be exploited by malicious parties to access or damage data. Based on these findings, the researcher provides recommendations to improve the website’s security. This study is expected to serve as a reference for information system administrators in enhancing cybersecurity defenses within the university environment.
