Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of students’ ability to perform prayer practices, which is a crucial aspect that every student should possess. The drill method was a teaching technique that involved repeated exercises on previously learned material to develop specific skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the drill method on students' prayer practice at Junior High School 3 Batang Cenaku. A quantitative method was employed in this research. The subjects were 93 third-grade students, and the object of the study was the influence of the drill method on their prayer practice. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that the drill method had a significant and positive effect on students' prayer practice at Junior High School 3 Batang Cenaku, with a calculated t-value of 5.165 greater than the t-table value of 2.048 and a significance level less than 0.05 (sig. 0.054 < 0.05), and a positive coefficient value of 0.470 or 47%. The coefficient of determination (R Square) was 0.195, indicating that 20% of the students' prayer practice was influenced by the use of the drill method, while the remaining 80% was affected by other factors not examined in this study.
