Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the implementation of employee recruitment and selection processes based on Sharia management at the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Pekanbaru City. The focus of this research was to examine the extent to which Sharia management principles were applied in the recruitment and selection processes and their impact on employee effectiveness at BAZNAS. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method, conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings showed that BAZNAS Pekanbaru had implemented several Sharia management principles in its recruitment and selection processes, such as tests on Qur’anic reading ability, knowledge of prayer, understanding of zakat, honesty, justice, transparency, and the consideration of religious values in evaluating prospective employees. However, the study also identified several challenges, such as the limited availability of human resources with a deep understanding of Shariabased recruitment and selection principles. This study recommended the need to strengthen Sharia-based training and to develop more systematic standard operating procedures in accordance with Sharia principles to enhance professionalism and accountability in human resource management within zakat institutions, particularly at BAZNAS Pekanbaru.
