Abstract

This study aimed to examine the extent to which Unqualified Opinion (WTP) influenced public trust in paying zakat to National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Pekanbaru City. The analysis was based on data obtained from BAZNAS Pekanbaru and survey results from muzakki (zakat payers). From 2019 to 2023, BAZNAS Pekanbaru experienced an increase in the number of muzakki paying zakat. This suggests that the Unqualified Opinion (WTP) had a significant positive impact on public trust in paying zakat through BAZNAS Pekanbaru. The study adopted the theories of Sanusi and Ridwan, whose indicators explain zakat and the role of BAZNAS in enhancing muzakki’s trust. The results of the study showed how the Unqualified Opinion (WTP) affected the level of muzakki’s trust in BAZNAS Pekanbaru, as evidenced by the distributed questionnaires. It can be concluded that the WTP opinion significantly influenced the level of trust among the public/muzakki in distributing their zakat through BAZNAS Pekanbaru.
