Abstract

Turnover intention is the tendency of employees to leave their jobs. In the coffee shop industry competition makes employees need to have loyalty, one of the factors that influence turnover intention is organizational commitment. This study aims to determine the relationship between organizational commitment and turnover intention in coffee shop employees in Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City. This research uses quantitative methods with research subjects totaling 153 employees. This study used purposive sampling technique. The instrument used is an organizational commitment scale of 15 items and a turnover intention scale of 30 items. Data analysis was carried out using Spearman's rho correlation. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant negative relationship between organizational commitment and turnover intention, obtained a coefficient value of -0.827 with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). The results of this study state that the hypothesis is accepted and shows a significant negative relationship between organizational commitment and turnover intention.
