Abstract

Currently, there are many factors that cause legal problems in Indonesia, one of which is a weak judicial system, the views of law enforcement officers that are not good, the inconsistency of law enforcers, interventions here and there from the authorities, and products of legal regulations that are sometimes irrelevant. Many people may not realize or understand this bad community law, because their people do not know the applicable law that is suitable for those who are lay or because they do not know that poor people have the right to get free legal services. Legal aid is an effort by the government to uphold Human Rights (HAM), recognition and protection of human rights for citizens or individuals which is the obligation of the State as a logical consequence of the establishment of a State of law. The problem of this study is how the role and obstacles of the Ananda Legal Aid Institute in providing legal aid and consultation in Bagansiapiapi and how the parameters of service are provided in the role of the Ananda Legal Aid Institute in providing legal aid and consultation in Bagansiapiapi so that they can get access to justice. In this study, the author uses the observational research method, namely conducting a survey to obtain information by collecting data through interviews. While the nature used in this study is descriptive. LBH Ananda has a strategic role in encouraging public legal awareness and helping resolve cases through litigation and non-litigation. Despite facing limited resources, the institution's commitment to providing fair and equitable legal services is greatly felt by the community. This study recommends increasing support from local governments and synergy between legal institutions to strengthen the role of LBH Ananda in the future.
