Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Elephant Conservation Campaign by the Rimba Satwa Foundation in Riau. The study uses the Ostegard campaign model to support the research. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The subject of this research is the Rimba Satwa Foundation. There are five informants in this study, and the data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that there are three stages of the campaign: pre-campaign, campaign, and post-campaign.In the first stage, the planning done by the Rimba Satwa Foundation involves analyzing the findings and threats in the form of field data obtained by the Smart Patrol team. In the effort to save and preserve the Sumatran elephant and address human-elephant conflict in the region, the Smart Patrol team has conducted a comprehensive survey across all the villages. The goal of this survey is to analyze the problems faced in each village and to identify specific needs related to conflict prevention by carrying out the Smart Patrol campaign program.The campaign activities have received positive responses from the communities along the elephant migration routes. The activities carried out by the Rimba Satwa Foundation aim to increase the knowledge of the communities in these areas and to involve them in the Smart Patrol campaign. This has led to the formation of groups such as the Elephant Care Community and forest farmers' groups in several villages under its development.
