Abstract

Calculation of oil reserves is important to detect reservoirs as the feasibility level of a well to be produced. Petrophysical analysis is carried out on the LV Field in determining the feasibility of a production by looking at the oil reserves stored in several wells in the field. Wells A and B are wells located in the LV Field, precisely in the Kansas area, USA. Well A has a depth of 3,459 ft and has been producing since 2014, while well B has a depth of 3,616 ft and has been producing since 2015, and both wells are still producing today. However, these two wells do not have data on the estimated oil reserves or original oil in place (OOIP). Thus, the author will conduct a petrophysical analysis on each productive layer using interactive petrophysics software qualitatively and calculate oil reserves in the productive layer quantitatively using one of the oil reserve calculation methods, namely the volumetric method. From the analysis carried out qualitatively, it was found that for well A 8 zones and well B 10 zones were estimated to have the potential to become productive zones. And after a series of calculations, it is found that in well A there are 5 productive zones with an OOIP of 22.0856 MMSTB and in well B there are 5 productive zones as well with an OOIP of 6.9374 MMSTB.
