Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students at SMAS LKMD Kandis, as several students had low learning outcomes and were below the minimum competency criteria (KKM) set by the school. This study aimed to determine the influence of the jigsaw cooperative learning method on students’ outcomes in learning Islamic Studies in grade XII at SMAS LKMD Kandis. This was a quantitative study with a correlational approach. The population of the study consisted of students in classes of XII Science, XII Social Science 1, XII Social Science 2. The sample was taken by saturated sampling technique which took the entire population of 61 students. The data collection techniques of the study were questionnaires and documentation. The results of the study indicated that the alternative hypothesis stating that there was an influence of the jigsaw cooperative learning method on students’ learning outcomes was accepted with a significance value of 0.000. The magnitude of the influence of the jigsaw cooperative learning method on students’ learning outcomes was in the "low" category, namely (0.365 or 36.5%). It could be predicted that if the influence of the jigsaw cooperative learning method was increased, it would contribute to increasing students’ learning outcomes by 0.630 or 63%. In conclusion, the results of the study showed that the jigsaw cooperative learning method had an influence on the students’ outcomes in learning Islamic Studies in grade XII at SMAS LKMD Kandis.
