Abstract
his research was motivated by the issue of halal food feasibility in the home industry at Waroeng Nang Omah, Tuah Karya Sub-district, Pekanbaru. This study aimed to identify halal food products that had not yet obtained halal certification, despite being processed from raw materials in accordance with the requirements for halal food, namely: halal in substance, halal in the method of acquisition, halal in processing, halal in storage, and halal in presentation. The research problem was formulated as: How was the feasibility of halal food in the home industry at Waroeng Nang Omah, Tuah Karya Sub-district, Pekanbaru? This study employed a field research method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were then analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The results showed that the food products produced by Waroeng Nang Omah met the criteria of halal food in terms of substance, method of acquisition, processing, storage, and presentation. All food ingredients used by Waroeng Nang Omah had clearly identifiable halal status, indicating that the products were feasible from a halal perspective, although they had not yet been officially certified.
