Abstract

This study was motivated by the low awareness of some retail store sellers in Ujung Batu District regarding paying zakat, especially trade zakat. This was due to their limited knowledge of the sources of assets subject to zakat. Many sellers are still confused about calculating their zakat. The aim of the study was to investigate the knowledge of retail store sellers on trade zakat in Ujung Batu District. The subjects of the study were retail store sellers in Ujung Batu District. The object of the study was the level of knowledge of retail store sellers in Ujung Batu District on trade zakat. The data sources of the study were from primary and secondary data. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique of the study was questionnaire. This was a descriptive quantitative study performed by SPSS for Windows version 30. The sample of the study consisted of 93 respondents. Based on the results of the study, the level of knowledge of retail store sellers in Ujung Batu District on trade zakat based on respondents' answers showed that P-value of 68.55%. This indicated that the level of knowledge of retail store sellers in Ujung Batu District on trade zakat was categorized as "fairly aware" with a percentage of 41%-60%.
