Abstract
The crime of assault is a form of criminal act that can evolve along with the times, and anyone can become the perpetrator. Criminal cases can be resolved through litigation, but this is not the only method of resolution available; non-litigation (outof-court) resolution is also an option. One of the non-litigation methods commonly used to resolve cases is by applying restorative justice. Restorative justice is a method of resolving criminal acts that involves the perpetrator, the victim, the perpetrator's family, the victim's family, and the community, working together to find a fair resolution through reconciliation, with an emphasis on restoring the situation to its original state. The main issue in this research is how the implementation of restorative justice is applied to assault crimes in the jurisdiction of the Tambang Sector Police, and what obstacles are encountered in the implementation of restorative justice for assault crimes in the Tambang Sector Police area. The method used in this research is an empirical approach, which involves collecting data and directly observing sources of information from the research object being studied. This is further supported by journals, books, articles, and other relevant sources. The collected data is then linked to the actual conditions in the field regarding the Implementation of Restorative Justice for Assault Crimes in the Jurisdiction of the Tambang Sector Police The research findings show that the implementation of restorative justice for assault crimes in the jurisdiction of the Tambang Sector Police involves various parties with the aim of achieving justice for all and fulfilling applicable formal and material requirements. The obstacles in implementing restorative justice for assault crimes in the Tambang Sector Police area include demands from the victim that exceed the perpetrator’s ability, the perpetrator being a repeat offender, and the lack of cooperation from the involved parties.
