Abstract

CV. RAB Auto Pekanbaru is a business entity engaged in the buying and selling of used cars, located in Pekanbaru City, Riau. This business offers a variety of used cars and serves as an alternative choice due to the high prices of new cars and the growing purchasing power of buyers, who are now able to purchase used cars. However, in practice, problems often arise between business owners and buyers later on, due to the business owner's breach of contract or failure to fulfill the commitments made to the buyer. As a result, buyers suffer losses because the business owner fails to meet their obligations. The main issues in this research are, first, how is the implementation of the used car sales transaction between CV. RAB AUTO and the buyer in Pekanbaru City? And second, what are the supporting factors and obstacles in the implementation of the used car sales agreement between CV. RAB AUTO and the buyer in Pekanbaru City? This study employs an observational research method, utilizing on-site field observations. The main sources of data include direct observations and interviews. The study takes a descriptive approach, aiming to portray or summarize the data collected from the field. The first research finding indicates that in the implementation of the used car sales transaction between CV. RAB Auto and the buyer in Pekanbaru City, the procedure is almost followed but has some shortcomings, such as the failure to disclose the car's deficiencies and the agreement being made verbally without explaining the buyer's rights. The second research finding explains that there are several supporting factors, including: complete and guaranteed documentation, no backorders like new cars, vehicle taxes are paid on time and not in arrears, the price is cheaper than new cars, an agreement on the price, payment method, and handover process, as well as ease in payment methods, both cash and credit. The obstructing factors include: the seller being less transparent with the buyer, the seller not explaining the rights and obligations of both parties, and the absence of a written agreement provided by the showroom to the buyer.
