Abstract
Adolescence is a time of searching for identity. where changes occur in adolescents both physically, psychologically, and socially, so that the behavior shown leads to hedonistic behavior. As for the factors that cause adolescents to follow hedonistic behavior is self-esteem. Adolescents who have low self-esteem, have a desire to be accepted and recognized by their peer group and are easily influenced by the social environment, one of which is hedonistic behavior. This type of research is quantitative research with a sample of Pekanbaru youth totaling 100 samples using a non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling technique. data collection using a Likert scale and hypothesis testing using the bootstrapping process (F hayes) method. From the results, the bootstrap standardized indirect effect value is 0.63 and the 95% confidence interval (CI) ranges from 0.32 to 0.94 (95% confidence interval), the estimate is significant and the mediating effect is the effect size resulting from the standardized coefficient the indirect effect of variable X to Y is 0.3611 and there is a significant indirect effect of self-esteem on peer conformity through hedonic behavior. the conclusion is the role of self-esteem as a mediator of the influence of peer conformity on hedonistic behavior in adolescents
