Abstract

The success of the Kampar Regency Goverment in shifting rubber commodities to oil palm plantation commodities has recently often given rise to conflicts. Conflict is part of human live. Because every human being has different feelings, opinions and cultural backgrounds. One form of conflict that often occurs during the last 30 years is also exprienced by local communities, namely the occurrence of contradiction and dramatic expriences regarding land use. Continous conflict between individuals or groups can have a very significant psychological inpact on the parties involved. In this context, a deep understanding of psychologi help open the door to effective solutions. The role of psychologi in this study is best to reduce and eliminate conflict throught conflict mitigation. Mitigation is an effort to reduce the risk and inpact of disasters. Mitigation can be done through physical depelovment, awareness, and increasing teh ability to face threats and disaster. This mitigation is very nacessary at this time, because in saveral areas of Kampar Regency there has been a prolonged conflict related to the management of oil palm plantations.
