Abstract
This research aims to identify the forms of sexual harassment occurring at the Pemandian Sungai Ujil tourist destination and to analyze the prevention strategies using the Situational Crime Prevention approach. A qualitative descriptive method was applied through in-depth interviews with visitors, local residents, site managers, and victims. The findings reveal that the most dominant form of harassment is nonverbal, particularly the act of taking photos without consent, often carried out covertly in areas with limited supervision. Locations such as the large riverbank stones and peak visitor times (weekends and public holidays) were identified as highrisk contexts. Analysis based on Situational Crime Prevention theory indicates that prevention strategies include: increasing offender effort through physical and social surveillance, increasing the perceived risk of getting caught via mobile security and rapid-report systems, reducing the potential rewards of harassment by enforcing swift interventions, and inducing guilt or shame through ethical messaging and social norms. Local community members play a key role as informal guardians by actively monitoring the site. This research concludes that fostering social awareness, collaborative surveillance, and victim-friendly reporting mechanisms are essential to creating a safe and inclusive tourist environment.
