Abstract

Rubber farming is a business carried out by farmers in obtaining income by utilizing rubber plants, labor and capital where a portion of the income received is used to finance expenses related to farming. This study aims to analyze 1) Farmer characteristics and profiles of rubber farming in Pinggir Village, Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency 2) Use of production factors, production costs, production, prices, farmer income and efficiency of rubber farming in Pinggir Village, Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency. The method used in this research is survey method. This research was conducted in Pinggir Village, Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province for 6 (six) months starting from February to July 2023. The sampling technique in this study used boring sampling (simple random) on rubber farmers in the village. Pinggir Subdistrict Pinggir. The data used in this research comes from primary data and secondary data. The type of data used consists of quantitative and qualitative descriptive data. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the characteristics of rubber farmers in Pinggir Village were that the average age was 42 years, which means that rubber farmers in the study area belonged to the productive age group. The average length of education for farmers is 6-9 years or equivalent to elementary and junior high schools. The average rubber farming experience is 15 years, and the average family of rubber farmers is 3 people. The production costs for rubber farming in Pinggir Village were Rp. 1,374,417 Ha/Month, of which the largest cost was Rp. 811,890.63 Ha/Month for the use of labor for land clearing, fertilizing, spraying and tapping activities, the gross income was Rp. 2,762,775 Ha/month, with a production of 376.50 kg at a rubber price of 7,338/kg; net income of IDR 1,388,358 Ha/Month, efficiency or RCR was obtained at 2.01 (> 1), this shows that rubber farming in Pinggir Village, Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency is feasible to continue and develop.
