Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the main interaction effect of cow dung bokashi and urea fertilizer on the growth of celery plants. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution Km 11 No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The study was conducted for 4 months from November 2022 to February 2023. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors. The first factor was Bokashi Cow Manure with 4 treatment levels 0, 112.5, 225 and 337.5 g/polybag. The second factor was urea fertilizer consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 1.1, 2.2 and 3.3 g/polybag. Parameters observed were plant height, number of tillers, number of leaf midribs, fresh weight per plant, economic weight per plant, and root volume. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with a follow-up test of the Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of cow manure bokashi and urea had a significant effect on the number of tillers, number of leaf sheaths, fresh weight per plant, economic weight per plant, and root volume. The best treatment was given 337.5 g/polybag of bokashi cow dung and 3.3 g/polybag of urea fertilizer. The main effect of real cow dung bokashi on all observation parameters. The best treatment was found in cow dung bokashi 337.5 g/polybag. The main effect of urea fertilizer application is significant for all observation parameters. The best treatment was found in urea 3.3 g/polybag.
