Abstract

Research entitled “The Effect of POC Pineapple Skin and NPK 20:10:10 on the Growth of Onion Plants (Allium fistulosum L.). The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution Km 11 No. 113, Air cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, for 4 months from December to March 2023. This study aims to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of POC pineapple skin and NPK 20:10:10 on plant growth spring onion. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the POC concentration of pineapple skin with 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 87.5, 175 and 262.5 ml per liter of water. The second factor was the dose of NPK 20:10:10 consisting of 4 treatment levels namely 0, 1.8, 3.6 and 5.4 grams per polybag. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves per hill, number of tillers per hill, harvesting age, fresh weight per hill, and root volume. Observational data were analyzed statistically and carried out by Follow-Up Test for Honest Significant Differences (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of POC pineapple peel and NPK 20:10:10 had a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves per clump, number of tillers per clump and root volume. The best treatment was given a combination of POC pineapple skin 262.5 and NPK 20:10:10 5.4 g/polybag. The main effect of giving POC pineapple peels has a significant effect on the parameters of the observed harvest age and fresh weight per clump. The best treatment at a concentration of 262.5 ml/l water. In particular, NPK 20:10:10 had a significant effect on the observed parameters of harvest age and fresh weight per clump. The best treatment at a dose of 5.4 g/polybag.
