Abstract

The research entitled "The Effect of Palm Oil Palm Ashes and NPK 16:16:16 Fertilizer on the Growth of Cacao (Theobroma cacao L.)" Seeds, was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City, from January to May 2023 The aim of the study was to determine the interaction and main effect of oil palm shoot ash and NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer on the growth of cocoa seedlings. The study used a completely randomized factorial design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the dose of palm ash (A), consisting of 4 levels, namely: 0; 75; 100; 125 g/polybag and the second factor is the dose of NPK 16:16:16 (N) consisting of levels, namely: 0; 3; 6; 9g/poly bag. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, widest leaf area and root volume. The data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of oil palm shoot ash and NPK 16:16:16 was significant for all observation parameters. The best treatment was at a dose of 125 g/polybag and NPK 16:16:16 9 g/polybag. The main effect of oil palm coconut ash is significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment at a dose of 125 g/polybag. The main effect of NPK 16:16:16 is significant for all observation parameters. The best treatment at a dose of 9 g/polybag.
