Abstract

This research was conducted in the greenhouse of the Islamic University of Riau, Pekanbaru, for 6 months starting from September 2022 to February 2023. This study aims to examine the Effectiveness of Various Types of Botanical Pesticides and Ghost POC Applications on Pest and Disease Control and Their Effects on Growth and Production of Red Chili (Capsicum annum L.). This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors. The first factor was various types of Botanical Pesticides with 4 levels of treatment, namely without the application of insecticides, soursop leaves, red betel leaves, and neem leaves. The second factor was the ghost POC dose consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 2, 4, 6 ml/liter of water. Parameters observed were pest emergence time, species and population, disease emergence time, disease name, and percentage attacked, plant height, number of productive branches, flowering age, harvesting age, number of fruit planted and number of remaining fruit planted. Observational data were analyzed statistically and carried out by Follow-Up Test for Honest Significant Differences (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that interacting with various types of Botanical Pesticides and Ghost POC had a significant effect on pest and disease control, plant height, productive branches, flowering time and number of fruits per plant. The best treatment was found in giving vegetable pesticides, namely soursop leaves and neem leaves. The main effect of giving Ghost POC significantly affected all parameters of the observation of the best treatment, namely Ghost POC with a dose of 6 ml/l water.
