Abstract
This research aims to design and develop an automatic curtain system based on the Internet of Things by integrating a light sensor LDR and a sensor PIR. The system was developed as a solution to issues in managing indoor lighting and privacy, which are often overlooked due to occupants' busy routines. The LDR sensor detects natural light intensity to optimize room lighting, while the PIR sensor detects human presence near the curtain to determine activity. The ESP32 microcontroller serves as the central controller, processing data from the sensors, operating the stepper motor to move the curtain, and connecting the system to the internet. The Blynk application is implemented as a remote control interface, and Telegram is used to send real-time curtain status notifications to users. The research follows a prototyping method, starting from requirement gathering, prototype development, system evaluation, and testing. The results show that the system can operate both automatically and manually, offering energy efficiency and improving comfort and accessibility, especially for the elderly and people with disabilities. This system also contributes to the advancement of smart home technology based on IoT.
