Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of varieties and organic NPK on the growth and yield of shallot plants in peat media. This research was carried out in the experimental garden of Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru. This study was counted from September - December 2022. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The first factor is variety with 3 levels namely (Bima Brebes, Bauji, and Medan). The second factor was the dose of organic NPK consisting of 4 levels (0, 1.2, 2.4 and 3.6 g/plant), treatment with 3 replications with a combination of 36 treatments. Parameters observed were plant height, harvesting age, number of tubers per hill, wet tuber weight per hill, dry tuber weight per hill, tuber weight, tuber diameter, and tuber weight loss. Observational data were analyzed statistically and carried out by Follow-Up Test for Honest Significant Differences (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that organic varieties and NPK interactions had a significant effect on all observed parameters. The best treatments were the Bauji and Bima Brebes varieties and the organic NPK 3.6 g/plant. The main effect of various shallot varieties and organic NPK had a significant effect on all observed parameters. The best treatment was found in the shallot varieties Bauji and Bima Brebes and organic NPK 3.6 g/plant.
