Abstract

The research entitled "The Effect of MOL from Leftover Cabbage and KCl on the Growth and Production of Purple Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.)", was carried out in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Pekanbaru, from August to November 2021. Research objectives This is to determine the interaction of MOL fertilizer and KCl left over from cabbage on the growth and production of purple eggplant. The study used a completely randomized factorial design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was giving the remaining MOL of cabbage consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 15, 30, and 45 ml/L. The second factor KCL consisted of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 2.5, 5 and 7.5 g/plant. Parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, harvesting age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant and fruit weight per fruit. Observational data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and a further test of Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. The research results concluded that; The interaction of leftover MOL of cabbage and KCl had a significant effect on the parameters of the number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant and fruit weight per fruit. The best treatment was a combination of MOL leftover cabbage fertilizer 45 ml/l water and KCl fertilizer 7.5 g/plant. The residual MOL of cabbage had a significant effect on all observed parameters, the best treatment was administration of MOL of cabbage residue 45 ml/L of water. KCl fertilizer had a significant effect on all observed parameters, the best treatment was the application of 7.5 g/plant KCl fertilizer.
