Abstract

The research objective was to determine the interaction of chicken manure and silica fertilizer on the growth of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) plants. This research was carried out at the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution KM 11 No. 113 Marpoyan Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted for 4 months, starting from October 2021 to January 2022. The design used was Completely Randomized Factorial Design (CRD). The first factor was Chicken Manure which consisted of 4 levels: 0, 125, 250 and 375 g per plant. The second factor was Silica Fertilizer which consisted of 4 levels, namely: 0, 3.75, 7.50 and 11.25 g per plant, 16 treatment combinations were obtained and each treatment combination consisted of 3 replications to obtain 48 plots, of which one plot there were 4 plants and 2 plants were sampled so that 192 plants were obtained. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that: The interaction of chicken manure and silica fertilizer has a significant effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment was a dose of 375 g/plant and a dose of 11.25 g/plant of silica fertilizer. The main effect of chicken manure and silica doses was significant on all observation parameters, where the best treatment was 375 g/plant and 11.22 g/plant.
