Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of motivation and competence on lecturer performance at Jamiah Islam Syeikh Daud Al-Fathani (JISDA), Yala Province, Thailand. Lecturer performance is one of the important indicators in determining the quality of higher education, especially in Islamic institutions. Lecturer work motivation and competence are thought to have a significant influence on the quality of teaching, research, and community service. The research method used is a quantitative approach and this study uses a census method with a population of 56 people. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to JISDA lecturers. The data analysis technique used Smart PLS Version 3. The results of the study indicate that both motivation and competence have a positive and significant effect on lecturer performance, both. This indicates that Motivation and Competence have a significant effect on performance at Jamiah Islam Syeikh Daud Al-Fathani (Jala) South Thailand. Because the higher the level of motivation and competence of lecturers, the better the performance produced. These findings provide implications for institutional managers to strengthen human resource development programs in the form of training and continuous competency improvement
