Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of motivation and competence on employee career development through the intervening variable of employee performance at PT PP Tirta Riau. This study uses quantitative research. Data collection techniques using questionnaires. The sample in this study amounted to 65 employees of PT PP Tirta Riau. This study uses Partial Least Squares (PLS) data analysis. The results of the study indicate that employee motivation, competence and performance have a significant effect on employee career development. Motivation and competence have a significant effect on employee performance. Motivation affects employee career development through employee performance and competence affects employee career development through employee performance.
