Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of POC Embio and NPK 16:16:16 on the growth and production of rainbow corn (Zea mays L.), both in terms of interaction and main effect. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution Km 11 No 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. For 4 months, from June to September 2022. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Factorial Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was Embio POC which consisted of 4 levels namely 0, 30, 60, 90 ml/l and the second factor was NPK 16:16:16 which consisted of 4 levels namely 0, 15, 30, 45 g/plant. Parameters observed were plant height (cm), flowering age (days), cob length (cm), cob diameter (cm), cob weight per plant (g), number of seeds per plant (seeds), and weight of 100 seeds (g). The results showed that POC Embio and NPK 16:16:16 had a significant effect on cob length, ear diameter, ear weight per plant, number of seeds per plant, and weight of 100 seeds. The best treatment was a combination of POC Embio 90 ml/l and NPK 16:16:16 45 g/plant. The main effect of the Embio POC treatment had a significant effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment was POC Embio 90 ml/l. The main effect of the NPK 16:16:16 treatment had a significant effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment was NPK 16:16:16 45 g/plant.
