Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the coordination function at the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of Riau Province in supporting the effectiveness of interdepartmental work within the government structure. An effective coordination function is the key to successful bureaucratic management, particularly in task regulation, program implementation synchronization, and the achievement of common goals and shared interests. This research employs a qualitative approach using interview methods, direct observation, and documentation involving the Head of Bureau, Heads of Divisions, and Heads of Subdivisions within the General Bureau. The findings indicate that the implementation of the coordination function has been carried out fairly well; however, several obstacles remain, such as overlapping authorities, weak crosssector communication, and suboptimal utilization of information technology. This study recommends strengthening coordination SOPs, enhancing a collaborative work culture, providing effective communication training, and utilizing digital systems to support cross-divisional coordination.
