Abstract

Domestic violence is an act committed in the household either by a husband, wife or child which has a negative impact on physical, psychological and harmony integrity. In terms of handling it, most of the domestic violence ends peacefully without justice and remedy for the women and this certainly hinders the implementation of the PKDRT Law which ensures victims get justice and recovery. The main problem in this study is what are the factors that cause domestic violence in the jurisdiction of the Kuantan Singingi Police and how to deal with domestic violence in the jurisdiction of the Kuantan Singingi Police. The type of research used in this research is sociological research. This research was conducted in Kuantan Singingi. Research data collection techniques using interviews. The population and sample are parties related to the overall problem of this research. Data analysis used is a qualitative technique by way of deductive inference. From the results of the study that the factors that cause domestic violence in the jurisdiction of the Kuantan Singingi Police are the lack of legal awareness of the community, local culture, economic conditions that tend to lead to poverty, and the social environment that influences a person's personality and influences behavior. in committing domestic violence. The handling of domestic violence in the jurisdiction of the Kuantan Singingi Police is carried out in several ways, such as prevention efforts, namely pre-emptive and preventive efforts and repressive efforts as a form of prevention after the occurrence of domestic violence.
