Abstract

Abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics is now increasing, and these developments are occurring in various areas, including in the jurisdiction of the Mining Police in Tambang District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Incidents of abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics that occur within the jurisdiction of the Mining Police throughout 2021 will continue to increase compared to 2020. Where narcotics have a negative impact if they are misused in their use, especially if someone is already addicted to using them. , then if this crime of drug trafficking and abuse is not dealt with decisively it will result in an increasing number of narcotics circulation, so that if this happens it can have an unfavorable impact on society. In this thesis entitled "Efforts to Overcome the Circulation of Meth-Type Narcotics in the Legal Area of the Mining Police" there is a main problem, namely: What are the factors causing the circulation of methamphetamine-type narcotics in the jurisdiction of the Mining Police and what are the efforts of the Police in tackling the circulation of methamphetamine-type narcotics in the jurisdiction Mining Police. The method used to answer the problems mentioned above is to use the sociological empirical research method, which is a data collection technique, in which the researcher makes direct observations of the research object to take a close look at the activities being carried out. While seen from its nature, this research is analytical descriptive. The results of the study indicate that efforts to tackle the illicit traffic of narcotics- type methamphetamine in the jurisdiction of the Mining Police are carried out through three efforts, namely Pre-emptive (coaching), Preventive (prevention) and Repressive (enforcement). Pre-emptive efforts (coaching) are the initial efforts made by the police to overcome, prevent and eradicate the occurrence of criminal acts. Preventive efforts (prevention) namely through counseling, outreach, banners, and distribution of pamphlets. Efforts (Repressive) namely by applying law enforcement to the perpetrators of narcotics crimes.
