Abstract

In responding to various problems regarding consumers, the explanation of law number 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection is all efforts to ensure legal certainty to provide protection to consumers. The public service law (public service) is indeed filled with various problems, this is because the service has a very wide reach which includes both the profit and non-profit sectors. In this case, the service referred to above is a service to the passengers of the Sinar Kejora Rohul travel transportation, which is a private company engaged in the transportation service business with travel operators serving the Pasir Pengaraian-Pekanbaru- route. In serving its activities, PT Sinar Kejora Rohul operates 10 vehicles. The research problem is how to implement legal certainty for the protection of consumers in the transportation of people and how to resolve consumer disputes in the transportation of people at PT Sinar Kejora Rohul, which is provided by the company to consumers. In this study, the author uses a sociological juridical method, namely by obtaining data by going directly to the field and or directly to the object of research, the sources of legal materials used are primary legal materials and secondary legal materials, interview data collection tools and questionnaires. The results obtained from the research conducted by the author, that the consumer protection carried out by the company for users of travel transportation services is still low because the party from PT Sinar Kejora Rohul has also not carried out as legal certainty with the rules that have been fixed by the consumer protection law number 8 of 1999, and PT SInar Kejora Rohul is still very low in responding to problems caused by the service, convenience, and facilities provided by tourist transportation companies that are not based on Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection, as well as the lack of strict sanctions from the authorities. related about this issue, then from the party.
