Abstract

The Petroleum Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Riau Islamic University is a study program that was established based on and realizing the fact that Riau is the largest oil producer in Indonesia. This study program plays a role in forming quality human resources so that later they can fill available job opportunities. In creating public interest and enthusiasm, especially students, this application was made with the aim of being an introductory media and as promotional tool so that it can attract interest while providing information about this faculty, especially in the laboratory section of the Petroleum study program. This application was created using Blender 3D to make objects, Unity as a 3D display and using the markerless method and using the ARCore SDK library. Based on the results of the tests carried out, animation can be displayed indoors or outdoors and can track locations anywhere provided that the light intensity is sufficient above 10 lux of light intensity, and in distance testing of 5cm to 200 cm 3D animation can appear. User testing received a score of 82% with the conclusion of the respondent "Strongly Agree" that the application of introduction of laboratory equipment for petroleum engineering study program using augmented reality can help promote the Petroleum Engineering study program at Islamic Universoty of Riau.
