Abstract
The hydrologic cycle is a continuous process in which water circulates endlessly between the atmosphere and the Earth, undergoing various processes such as evaporation, transpiration, evapotranspiration, sublimation, condensation, advection, precipitation, runoff, infiltration, and conduction. Understanding the hydrologic cycle is crucial in comprehending the movement of water on Earth, its impact on the environment, and its significance for sustaining life. In the context of education, learning media serves as a valuable tool for conveying messages during the learning process. When educators rely solely on traditional or monotonous media that have been used for years, it can lead to student boredom and a lack of motivation, ultimately resulting in a decline in educational quality. By implementing Augmented Reality (AR) technology on smartphones, it becomes easier to engage students at all levels, from elementary school (SD) to junior high school (SMP) and high school (SMA), as well as adults. Augmented Reality technology allows for a more interactive and iv immersive learning experience, utilizing smartphones to make education more beneficial and accessible. By integrating Augmented Reality technology into the study of the hydrologic cycle, students can easily understand the subject matter without feeling bored. The developed application utilizes the ARCore SDK library and employs a three-dimensional interface with markerless techniques. The application is compatible with smartphones operating on the Android platform. Through community testing, it has been observed that the application successfully displays hydrologic cycle animations even under low light conditions, specifically at a minimum light intensity of 30 lux.
