Abstract

The palm oil industry in Indonesia plays a significant role in the economy. However, small-scale palm oil farmers often face challenges in crop management, particularly regarding fertilization. This leads to fertilizer wastage and inefficient expenditure. To address this issue, targeted education is necessary. One suitable solution is the utilization of Augmented Reality (AR) technology. Based on a survey, most small-scale palm oil farmers have low levels of education but possess proficiency in using smartphones. Therefore, the development of an AR application with 3D animated content for mobile devices can serve as an educational medium that facilitates the dissemination of information to farmers. Consequently, the efficiency of information delivery increases, and excessive fertilizer usage can be reduced in the long run.
