Abstract
A commercial area is an area characterized by economic activity, namely trade and services. The city of Pekanbaru has a commercial area which is located at the intersection of Jalan Tuanku Tambusai and Jalan Soekarno Hatta. There are 3 commercial areas namely the SKA Pekanbaru Mall Area, the Pekanbaru Transmart Area, and the Living World Mall Pekanbaru. With the diversity of activities in one area, it will cause attraction and generation which will affect traffic performance on Jalan Tuanku Tambusai and Jalan Soekarno-Hatta. The research method used is a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Qualitative methods are used to identify the characteristics of land use in commercial areas. While the quantitative method is used to identify (existing) traffic performance and predict the impact that will occur when the maximum parking capacity occurs. The research was conducted around the Pekanbaru SKA Mall Area, the Pekanbaru Transmart Area, and the Living World Mall Pekanbaru. Variables regarding this research are attraction and generation, traffic volume, road capacity, and level of road service. Based on the analysis of this study, it is known that the activities that occur due to activities in the area can have an impact on the performance of the road network. Based on the results of the analysis, the predicted impact caused by the maximum parking capacity in the area can cause changes in the degree of saturation and the level of road service (LOS). In the Pekanbaru SKA Mall Area, it contributed a change in the degree of saturation by around 28%, changing the value of the service level from LOS E to LOS F for Jalan Tuanku Tambusai and Jalan Soekarno Hatta, contributing 54% or changing the value of the service level from LOS A to LOS C. Transmart Pekanbaru has an impact of around 38% changing LOS A to LOS C, and Living World Mall has an impact of around 58% changing the value of LOS A to LOS B.
