Abstract
Bangko Sub-District, to be exact, the Bagansiapiapi Urban Area is the capital city as well as being the Local Activity Center in Rokan Hilir Regency so that it becomes the main service center for the community. As a result, many people move towards urban areas to meet their needs. This increase in the number of movements result in the loading of traffic flow that occurs at peak times. In addition to urban areas, the tendency of movement is also towards the outskirts of the village because the location of the government center is on the outskirt of the village so that the tendency for movement to occur in the city center and on the outskirts of the city. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of distribution of community movement in Bangko District. The analysis used is statistical analysis to analyze movement characteristics and analyze the Origin Destination Matrix (MAT). Data were obtained through household surveys and using spatial analysis to describe pattern of movement distribution. The result of this study obtained a division of 15 zones based on administrative boundaries. Based on its characteristics, the average movement of people with the aim of working uses a mode in the form of privately owned motorbikes which dominates the most and the number of movements that occur a lot at peak times such as morning, afternoon and evening. Based on income level, the average household income ranges from IDR 2.500.000 to IDR 5.000.000. The largest amount of movement generation occurs in zone 7 and the lowest movement generation is in zone 10. Meanwhile, the largest movement attraction occurs in zone 5 which functions as a center for education, health, trade and services and zone 13 which functions as the center of government. The distribution of movements is divided into 3 classess, that is high, medium and low. The highest movement distribution is in zones 4-4 and zones 7-7. In other words, the distribution of movement is more to the downtown transition zone.
