Abstract
Regional culinary development is one of Indonesia's tourism development goals, as stated in "Wonderful Indonesia". The purpose of this study was to identify the potential of durian talam cake as a typical Pekanbaru souvenir brand, to find out the mapping of the distribution of durian cake in Pekanbaru, and to know the perceptions of tourists and the government about durian talam cake as a souvenir from Pekanbaru. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Techniques in data collection are observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the research, it proves that the typical food of Pekanbaru City has various kinds and shapes, one of which is durian talam cake especially the durian talam cake at Viera Pekanbaru which is the most famous today which is always used as souvenirs for visitors, because it has a very good taste and quality image. satisfactory so that it is practical to be used as souvenirs. The mapping of souvenir shops selling durian talam cake has been widely spread in Pekanbaru city. There were 23 people who agreed that the quality of the kue talam could be enjoyed. There were 24 people who chose the kue talam to have various flavors according to the wishes of consumers. As well as 26 visitors who are happy to buy the kue talam because the price paid is in accordance with the quality of the food.
