Abstract

The use of LPG which is increasing every year is not matched by its availability, giving rise to energy scarcity which results in the difficulty and high cost of this fuel. One of these drawbacks is the design of the stove with poor air supply so that the combustion that occurs is incomplete. The solution to this problem is to increase the air supply to the stove so that the combustion is more complete. Among the existing alternative energy sources, biomass is an alternative energy source that needs to be prioritized in its development. Semi-gasified biomass stoves are now widely marketed in various regions of Indonesia, this stove is claimed to be very efficient in using its fuel. Based on the above, this research was carried out to test, analyze and find out the performance of each variation in the number of holes in this semi-gasification air. From the research data on variations in stove air inlets, data was obtained with the lowest performance air inlet variations, namely 20 holes with a thermal efficiency of 10.6% and the highest 60 holes with a thermal efficiency of 21.8%, and the optimal variation lies in the variation of 60 air inlets according to SNI on biomass stoves.
