Abstract

ABSTRACT Data protection one of the important aspects that need to get special attention is when a personal data turns into Big Data A large amount of this personal data is collected from users, Names, personal mobile phone numbers, birthdays, nationalities, addresses, shopping habits and even what medicines we buy online become part of the internet ecosystem, Law no. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection has regulated the rights and obligations that are owned as business actors should be able to cover all the rights and obligations of the parties. The scope of consumer protection is to regulate the legal relationship between consumers and business actors along with the rights and obligations that arise from this relationship, including data protection. Pekanbaru City, What are the legal protections for consumers using Mobile Banking for personal data leakage in Pekanbaru City, and What are the legal protection measures for consumers using Mobile Banking for personal data leakage in Pekanbaru City. From the results of this study, it was found that first, it was found that legal protection for consumers is outlined in the Consumer Protection Act, as well as in OJK regulations that protect consumers, especially in financial service providers, namely banks. secondly, it is known that consumers generally do not know what has been agreed upon by them, so that this ignorance makes consumers have data leakage, even though banks must maintain the confidentiality of their customers, besides that there is a standard agreement that exists when downloading applications is also unknown to consumers, and the implementation of Article 18 The Consumer Protection Law which is not implemented.
