Abstract
Unemployment is a social issue that significantly impacts individuals' psychological well-being, particularly during early adulthood. This developmental stage is characterized by life demands such as employment, starting a family, and achieving financial independence. When individuals at this stage experience unemployment, they become vulnerable to stress, anxiety, feelings of worthlessness, and social pressure. This research is grounded in the widespread issue of unemployment, both globally and locally, where the number of job seekers exceeds available job opportunities. Such conditions often lead to psychological distress among affected individuals. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method. Participants were selected using purposive sampling with the criteria: females aged 20–25 years, high school graduates, and unemployed for at least one year. The findings reveal that all four subjects demonstrated resilience with varying characteristics. They were able to manage emotions, maintain optimism, positively accept difficult circumstances, sustain social relationships, and develop spirituality as a source of peace and motivation. Support from family and social environments also played an important role in maintaining their perseverance during the unemployment period.
