Abstract
This study is titled The Influence of Parental Support and Attachment on SelfEfficacy in High School Students. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of parental support and attachment on self-efficacy in public high school students in the city of Pekanbaru. The study population consists of all 15,212 public high school students in Pekanbaru, with a sample of 340 students selected using cluster sampling. Data collection methods include the Parental Support Scale, the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA), and the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES). Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. The results showed a significant relationship between parental support and self-efficacy (t = 2.122; p = 0.034), indicating that parental support positively influences students' confidence in completing tasks and challenges. However, the results also showed that the relationship between attachment and self-efficacy was not significant (t = 1.366; p = 0.172). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.11 indicates that parental support and attachment together have a low influence on students' self-efficacy. The conclusion of this study is that parental support is an important factor influencing students' self-efficacy, while emotional attachment has a smaller contribution. This study suggests that parents should continue to provide positive support and emotional closeness to adolescents, while schools should provide self-efficacy development programs through training and motivation.
