Abstract
This study aims to describe the marital attitude of unmarried career women in Pekanbaru City. The research was based on the phenomenon of an increasing number of women postponing marriage in pursuit of education and career advancement. This research employed a descriptive quantitative method with a sample of 399 unmarried career women selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used was the Marital Attitude Scale (MAS) developed by Braaten & Rosén (1998). The results showed that the majority of respondents (53.4%) had a moderate marital attitude, 23.1% were in the high category, 4.8% in the very high category, 18.3% in the low category, and 0.5% in the very low category. These findings indicate that most career women consider marriage with careful thought, yet have not placed it as their main priority. Factors such as age, education, occupation, income, years of work experience, and family background also influence marital attitudes. This study contributes to the understanding of the psychological dynamics of career women in the context of marital decision making.
