Abstract
Criminal acts or crimes refer to types of legal violations that can stand alone, also known as independent crimes. The rampant crime that occurs on the streets, especially crimes committed by minors, has caused public unrest, especially in the jurisdiction of the Binawidya Police, where reports of street crimes have increased from time to time. One of the crimes committed is motorcycle theft. The main problem in this study is to find out how the legal process is in overcoming street crimes committed by children in the jurisdiction of the Binawidya Police and how efforts are made to overcome street crimes committed by children in the jurisdiction of the Binawidya Police. This study uses an empirical legal research approach/sociological legal research method in this case related to efforts to overcome street crimes committed by children in the jurisdiction of the Binawidya Police, with a descriptive analytical approach. The data used are primary data and secondary data that will be analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study that the author can conclude are that street crimes by children in the Binawidya Police area, such as motorcycle theft, extortion, and brawls, are triggered by economic factors, negative environments, and lack of supervision. The Polsek handled this case with a restorative justice approach in accordance with the SPPA Law, as well as pre-emptive efforts through legal socialization and coaching in schools, and preventive efforts such as patrols, raids, and cooperation with schools and social institutions.
