Abstract
Theft is one of the most common crimes and has received a lot of coverage in various mass media, both electronic and print. The crime of theft is usually motivated by the perpetrator's daily life circumstances. For example, they have a relatively low economic situation or income level, are unable to cover daily living expenses, and are influenced by a low level of education. In the Criminal Code, the crime of theft is distinguished by different requirements, such as theft according to its severity, which is regulated in Article 363 of the Criminal Code. Certain types of theft, or the purpose of granting this right, are thefts committed in a certain way or under certain circumstances, and therefore carry more serious and severe penalties than ordinary theft. The main problem in this study is the causal factors of the occurrence of aggravated theft based on hygiene criminal in the jurisdiction of the Tanah Putih Tanjung Melawan Police and how projections can be made to overcome aggravated theft based on the political criminal approach in the jurisdiction of the Tanah Putih Tanjung Melawan Police. This type of research is included in empirical research where to obtain research data is carried out by conducting field surveys such as observation, interviews, and documentation. While the nature of this research is descriptive analysis, namely presenting a detailed and clear picture of the criminological review of aggravated theft by destroying houses in the jurisdiction of the Tanah Putih Tanjung Perang Police. The results of the study showed that the crime of aggravated theft experienced an upward trend. There are several factors that cause someone to commit aggravated theft, namely economic factors, environmental factors, educational factors and work factors. The efforts and strategies carried out by the police to overcome the crime of theft in the Tanah Putih Tanjung Perang District Police area include several efforts, including Preventive Efforts, namely conducting patrols, creating neighborhood watch, adding security posts, conducting socialization to the community and installing CCTV in public areas that are prone to theft and building cooperation with the community and local figures. Repressive Efforts, namely conducting investigations, inquiries, prosecutions, arrests, examinations in court and undergoing a coaching process in the Correctional Institution.
