Abstract
The term “crime in society” refers to a phenomenon. It is a component of the overall economic structure that has a significant impact on social ties. Theft is defined as a deviant act that contravenes the rules of the Criminal Code (KUHP). It is regulated by regulations between the Criminal Code Article 362 and the Criminal Code Article 367. While in the Criminal Code Article 365 regulates theft with the threat of violence, it regulates the crime of theft with violence. The Panipahan Police jurisdiction is still subscribed to this criminal offense. Approximately 43 cases have been handled by the police. With this case, the author is very interested in researching further in a scientific study. The formulation of the problem in writing this research is the main factor that causes violent theft in the Panipahan Police jurisdiction referring to Criminal Hygiene as an approach method. And how the police efforts in tackling violent theft in the Panipahan Police jurisdiction refer to Public Criminal as an approach method. The research method is non-doctrinal observation, namely the author goes directly to the field to get primary data and secondary data. In collecting data, the author interviewed several respondents, namely: Criminal Investigation Unit, investigators, police, and perpetrators of violent crimes. The results of the research that the author obtained, there are several factors that cause offenders to commit crimes, namely: educational factors, individual factors, economic factors, environmental factors, law enforcement factors, global development factors, drug influence factors, opportunity factors, employment factors. Countermeasures taken by the police are pre-emtif, repressive and preventive efforts. One of them is by giving an appeal to the public to always be careful, holding routine patrols, and processing criminals.
