Abstract

Promotionisawayof communicating by a companyor organization to encourageorattract potential customerstobuy the productor service being marketed. Thepurposeofthis researchisto determine the implementation of sago food promotion carried out by related parties in Meranti Island Regency and the inhibiting factorsin the implementation of the promotion. Furthermore, theoretical concept sandindicatorsareused according to B.C Smith(2007:7) governanceforthe appointmentofa government organization thathasa democratic political culture, administratif efficiency, and also has the authority to make regulatory policies, especially in the economic sector. Promosi is one part of a series of marketing activities for anitem. Torelyon promotions, each company must determine exaxtly which promotion altoolstouseinorderto achieve successin distribution. This research use saqualitative method with a descriptive approach, there a serch subjectis the promotion and promotion of crafts, and collaborationwiththemerantiislandsdistrictyouthandsports tourism office and additional informants, namely visitors. Collection was carried outbyinterview, observation, and documentation. There sults of this research have been 4 median, namely participation, transparency, accountability and strategic vision. Does not hinder the factors faced by managers in implementing promotionsthrough4intermoflimitedmarketpropertyfundsforpromotions, lackof support packages, lackof awareness so there is no effort from the local community to take part in this culinary promotion, and the quality of human resources which still need to be improved with promotional training.
