Abstract

The Village Deliberation Body (BPD) is an institution that serves as a platform for village community aspirations. The presence of the BPD holds a vital role in village governance. Together with the village government, the BPD designs programs that can be implemented in rural areas. As representatives of the people in the village, the BPD is expected to act as a facilitator in meeting residents' needs for public facilities. The purpose of this study is to assess the performance of the Village Deliberation Body in accommodating and channeling community aspirations in Sialang Rindang Village, Tambusai District, Rokan Hulu Regency. This research employs a qualitative method, with a total of 5 informants, and the village head as the key informant. The results of the study reveal that the performance of the Village Deliberation Body (BPD) is crucial in managing and conveying community aspirations, as the BPD functions as a bridge between the village government and its residents. Community aspirations serve as the main foundation for decision-making related to development and public services, making it essential to ensure that residents' voices are heard and considered in every policy. Through active community participation, the BPD can understand the needs and expectations of residents, ultimately improving the quality of life in the village.
