Abstract
The research titled "Effect of Salak (Salacca zalacca) Variety and Nano Technology Organic Fertilizer Application Interval on the Growth and Production of Salak in Dayun District, Siak Regency" was conducted on two farmers' lands in Banjar Seminai Village, Dayun District, Siak Regency, Riau Province, from February to August 2024. This study aimed to determine the effects of salak varieties and nano technology organic fertilizer application intervals on the growth and production of salak plants. Using a Split-Plot Design (SPD), the main plot consisted of two salak varieties (Salak Pondoh and Salak Madu), while the subplots included three application intervals (no application, every 2 months, and every 4 months), resulting in six treatment combinations with five replications (30 experimental units in total). Observed parameters included the number of fronds, time of fruit bunch emergence, number of fruit bunches, number of fruits, fruit weight per plant, fruit sweetness level, and chlorophyll content. Data were analyzed using ANOVA followed by the HSD test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the interaction between salak varieties and fertilizer application intervals significantly influenced fruit bunch emergence time and fruit sweetness level, with the best treatment being Salak Madu with fertilizer application every two months. The main effect of salak variety significantly influenced fruit bunch emergence time, number of fruits, fruit weight per plant, fruit sweetness level, and chlorophyll content, with Salak Madu being the best variety. Additionally, the main effect of fertilizer application interval significantly affected all plant parameters, with the best interval being fertilizer application every two months.
